Restorative Osteopathy

My name is Cindy Milway, I have a Masters Degree in Osteopathy and graduated with distinction from the University College of Osteopathy (formerly known as the British School of Osteopathy).  I am also proud to say I was awarded the medal for outstanding academic achievement.

I came to Osteopathy with a diverse career background including having worked as a: Registered Nurse with a Bachelors of Nursing, Business Continuity & Crisis Management co-ordinator and in an investigatory role.  I loved all of these positions however I believed it was time to go back to my love of helping people so here I am.

Like many of you I enjoy running, lifting weights, yoga, pilates and walking my Rhodesion Ridgeback.  This is of course when I am not spending time with my family or caring for you, my wonderful patients.

A Holistic Approach to Pain & Rehabilitation

Before becoming an osteopath, Cindy worked as a sports and remedial massage therapist for six years, helping clients recover from injuries and improve movement. Her diverse career background, including roles in crisis management, corporate investigations, and business continuity, has shaped her problem-solving approach to patient care. Cindy is committed to understanding the root cause of pain and dysfunction, providing evidence-based treatments that enhance mobility, prevent further injury, and promote long term wellbeing.

My Approach

Ethos

I strongly believe that all aspects of our health including mental, emotional, social and physical affect how our body is able to heal and therefore take all of these into consideration when meeting a new patient for the first time, to ensure the best possible evidence informed approach is used.

Approaches

I currently utilise all aspects of osteopathy including structural, functional and visceral approaches. No treatment will be undertaken before first developing a treatment plan in conjunction with you. Together we attempt to identify the cause of your issues in a hope to change or remove them and prevent you from needing ongoing care. I also provide comprehensive self management strategies and a tailored online rehabilitation programme to aid in your recovery.

Therapies

In addition to being a registered osteopath I am a trained BTEC level 5 Soft Tissue and Sports Massage Therapist, Roc Doc level 2 sports taper and an Anatomy In Motion (AiM) facilitator having undertaken my training with Gary Ward.
